Yes, you may begin Part 2 of the online course before attending a live immersion—many students choose to do so. However, please follow these important guidelines:

- 50 hours from Part 1 (Introduction Series) practice and YOQI® Video on Demand practice

✅ While it’s not required to complete your immersion before starting Part 2, it is strongly recommended to support your integration, embodiment, and teaching confidence.
HOW MUCH TIME DO I NEED TO ALLOCATE TO STUDY PER WEEK? ↓
This section can typically be completed in 8 weeks.
Part 2: The Six Phases of Qigong Flow
Each of the six series takes approximately 6–8 weeks to complete, totaling around 48 weeks of study and practice.
Estimated Time Commitment:
- To complete one module over 12 months (150 hours), plan for 3+ hours per week.
- To complete one module over 6 months, plan for 6+ hours per week. You can adjust your pace based on your lifestyle and availability. Each series includes a suggested weekly schedule, guiding you through a balance of:
- 1 dynamic (yang) Qigong practice
- 1 seated meditation or yin-style practice
- Corresponding lectures
💡 Tip: It’s recommended to choose no more than four videos per series per week to allow the energy to integrate. This is all clearly explained in the course materials.

- 100 hours for Associate Instructor (A.I.) certification
- 200 hours for Certified Instructor (C.I.) certification

WHAT ARE THE REQUIRED ASSIGNMENTS AND PRACTICES TO COMPLETE BEFORE A LIVE IMMERSION? ↓
Here’s a checklist to help you prepare:
✅ Complete the Introduction Series
- Watch all lectures and practice the recommended flows
- Download the Practice Guide (in the “All Course Downloads” section) for guidance on what counts as practice
- Practice the 9 Core Introduction Series routines
- Use the provided Practice Log (typed, not handwritten)
- Include your name, date, and email at the top and total hours at the bottom
- Upload your log to your profile on the YOQI Instructor Directory
- Introduction Series Assignment Questions (found in the PDF manual)
- Test Your Qi quiz
- My Element Map Worksheet (file: M1.INTRO.MYELEMENT.pdf in the “M1-INTRO.4 ENERGY MAPS” section)
- Visit a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) doctor and receive a pulse and tongue diagnosis.
📌 Note: You are not required to begin the Attune Series or other course modules before the immersion — but if you do, wonderful! Just remember your practice hours for Part 1 and Part 2 must be tracked separately.
DO I HAVE TO MAKE A VIDEO FOR A FINAL PROJECT? ↓
To become an Associate Instructor, you are not required to submit a final video.
Yes, for Certified Instructor certification.
To become a Certified Instructor, you must complete a final project. This can be done in one of two ways:
- Submit a video of yourself teaching a YOQI flow OR
- Teach a live class to a YOQI senior instructor for assessment
I AM TAKING THE ONLINE COURSE. HOW DO I USE THE VIDEO ON DEMAND LIBRARY TO COMPLIMENT THE COURSE MATERIAL? ↓
There are two main ways I recommend to use the video on demand library to supplement the course:
- Focus on the 9 core routines. You can save them in your favorites for easy access.
- Practice the Seasonal Series that matches your season where you live or matches the Series you are working on in the Course. For example if you are working on Attune Series, do the Late Summer Series in the library. Or if it is Spring in your country, then use the Spring Series to supplement your Online Course practices.
I AM ALSO TAKING A COURSE WITH ANOTHER QIGONG INSTRUCTOR. CAN I USE THAT COURSE AS DOCUMENTED PRACTICE HOURS? ↓
The purpose of documenting self-practice hours is to help you:
- Internalize the YOQI method through direct experience
- Master the flows independently, without relying on a teacher or video
- Cultivate your own energy awareness at your own pace
- Practicing YOQI flows from the online course or Video on Demand library
- Practicing those flows on your own, without guidance (self-practice)
This approach ensures your learning is embodied and aligned with the YOQI system.
WHAT ARE ASSIGNMENT QUESTIONS? ↓
Assignment questions are reflective prompts that help you integrate what you’re learning in each module. They’re not research papers or academic essays — think of them as a way to track your personal insights, deepen your understanding, and support your growth as a practitioner and teacher.
🧘♀️ Purpose:The goal is to help you embody the material through self-reflection, not to test your memory. Please answer in your own words — don’t copy directly from the manual. (Since I wrote the manual, I can tell!) I genuinely want to hear your voice and experience.
🎥 Visual Guidance:For an overview, watch the first two videos in the course, which explain how the assignments work.
✍️ What’s Included:- Each series (e.g., Attune, Purge, etc.) has its own set of assignment questions.
- Starting from the Attune Series, you’ll also be asked to design your own Qigong Flow Classes as part of the assignment. Many students go on to teach from these flows!
- Assignments must be uploaded to your YOQI Directory profile.
- Submit the assignment questions for each Series before beginning the next one (e.g., submit the Introduction Series before starting Attune).
- Save your answers as a Word document (.doc or .docx) — not PDF — so instructors can leave comments and feedback.
- Name your file like this: FirstName_Assignment_AttuneSeries_Date.docx
WHAT IS A REFLECTION JOURNAL? ↓
Throughout the course, you’ll be offered optional reflection prompts. These are for your own growth and self-awareness — there’s no need to submit your journal as part of the coursework.
WHY DO I HAVE TO ATTEND THE LIVE IMMERSION TO BECOME A CERTIFIED YOQI® INSTRUCTOR? ↓
Attending a live immersion is a vital part of the certification process because:
- You’ll receive hands-on adjustments, personal feedback, and energetic transmission from senior YOQI instructors.
- Partner work and group energy cultivation offer a powerful learning experience that cannot be replicated online.
- The immersion provides space to refine your technique, deepen your understanding, and build confidence in your teaching skills.
DO I NEED TO COMPLETE ALL THE SERIES IN THE MODULE 1 ONLINE COURSE BEFORE ATTENDING A LIVE IMMERSION? ↓
However, it is highly recommended to complete:
- The Introduction Series (required for Associate Instructor certification)
- The Attune Series, which lays a strong foundation for the immersion experience
